Georgia On My Mind

This past weekend we made a trip to Atlanta to visit everyone. It was a really fun time! The ride over was interesting...pretty crowded. Daddy said that Mommy and I had way too much stuff! I only cried a little toward the very end. But, when I got too fussy, Daddy would roll down my window and Hud would lean over me for fresh air. I loved that! I found it entertaining for at least 5 minutes or so!

While we were in town, we got to do lots of things. Friday night was all about me, Ga'ma and Granpa. Mommy and Daddy went out by themselves (I can't imagine it was much fun without me). But, this gave me some time to catch up with my loved ones! Saturday, Daddy got to play golf with his good buddies. So, I went with Mommy to a baby shower. I was on my best behavior so that I wouldn't scare the Mommy-to-be too much!

We had a cook out on Saturday night. I got to visit with Uncle Jeff, Aunt Amy, the Thompsons, and another Fleming family! Cousins Amy and Julia helped to take good care of me.

Of all this running around, mornings on the porch with my family and Hud were my most favorite times!

Sunday was a great day. I got to visit with Poppy, Grandmommy and Aunt Carly. They all loved playing with me and spoiling me rotten!
We went to the lake to see the water. (Mommy was so upset that she forgot her camera). At first, I saw some animals that I thought were just funny looking dogs like Hud, but Mommy told me they were ducks. So much to learn and so many discoveries to make... What an amazing world God has created!!

Happy Mother's Day Mommy!

Sunday was Mother's Day, and we had a great time!

Daddy and I let Mommy sleep a little bit in the morning. When she woke up, we gave her yellow tulips (so pretty) and a gift card to a store that she really likes. Then we took her out to breakfast. Since it was Mother's Day, I let Mommy hold me the entire time...even while she ate. I knew she would enjoy the extra time together.

Then, we headed to Mimi's house for lunch with the family. Not only did I visit with my Grandparents, but I also got to spend time with my uncles (Roper and Phil) and also my Great Granny and Grandpa Roper. We enjoyed our visit very much.

Mommy, Daddy and I headed home and had a little family time. It was such a pretty day that we took some toys in the yard and enjoyed the afternoon playing outside.

Hud was so glad to have some play mates on his turf! I can't wait to really play with him when I get bigger.

That evening, Mommy and Daddy's friends Jason and Joanna cooked dinner. Sean came over, too and brought his puppy. We had a great time...I hit the sack early in the guest bedroom. I can sleep anywhere as long as I have my sound machine.

Mommy said that it was the perfect first Mother's Day!

Changing by the Day

It has been too long since we've had a chance to update y'all! So sorry! Mommy hasn't had much extra time with returning to work. But, things have been going well. I really miss Mommy while she is away, but I have had such a wonderful time playing with all of my grandmothers! I've had time with Mimi, Ga'ma and Grandmommy. They are all so very different. But, they do have one thing in common...they think that I hung the moon!!

Hanging out with Gran'pa was pretty great, too. He is a really cool dude.

Having everyone to play with all day has really made the adjustment of missing Mommy much smoother.

When she is home, all we do is play and cuddle.

Hud and I play a lot, too.

We've been very busy lately! With all of the company we've had, there has been very little down time. But, I am handling it like a pro. I'm rolling over all of the time now (sometimes it disturbs my slumber, but I just holler out and Mommy or Daddy comes and rolls me back over...I'm a little like a turtle now; once I'm on my back, there is no getting over...but give me time. I'll figure it out).

I'm learning to laugh out loud, too. Really, I just chuckle right now. But, when I do, it lights up the room. My laugh is really contagious.

Eating is still one of my favorite things to do. Although, I'd much prefer real food to a stinkin' bottle! I am eating sweet peas, squash, carrots, green beans, sweet potatoes, and pears. The only thing I don't like so far is bananas. Yuck! I pucker up and refuse to open my mouth the minute they come near. What do they think I am, a monkey or something?

I was baptized last Sunday. I wore the gown that Daddy wore when he was Christened. Mommy said it was a very special day.

ALL of my grandparents were there and took turns spoiling me.

My Aunt Melissa and Uncle David came and became my Godparents.

It was a day my parents will never forget.

Today, Mommy and I went to Demopolis with her cousin Dawn and her family to visit my other cousins and Nana. I was pretty good in the car (well, until the very end). But, Lily set a very good example the entire time.

I got to play with Gray, Nate, Lily and Mary Ella! We had so much fun!

I loved Aunt Beth and Nana, too!

All of Mommy's cousins are wonderful. They really made us feel at home. I hope we'll go back again soon!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day...Mommy's first. Daddy and I are planning to make the day really special. But, Mommy says that being with me is all that she needs.

A Very Busy Boy

Well, so much has gone on in the past few weeks. First of all, I am now 4 months old! Time is really flying. Mommy and Daddy can hardly believe how much I am growing and changing every day.

A few weeks ago, we took a trip to Nashville. Mommy, Daddy and I visited The Country Music Hall of Fame while we were there. There were so many neat things to see. I was a really good boy even though I really wasn't feeling well (I got my first bad cold last week).

Daddy had his picture taken with Waylon...

We had a really great time. But, all of the site seeing wore me out (Daddy, too).

The trip was great. But, Mommy and I were sort of sad on the way home. She had to go back to work this week. I kept telling her that things would be ok, but she still cried a little. The good news is that I'm going to get to spend so much time with my grandmas over the next few weeks. I started off the week with Mimi. We had a blast! She really knows how to play! Even though, there may have been a time or two that she was having more fun than I was.

But the best thing over the past few weeks has been that I get to eat big boy food now! It is really delicious! I had no idea that there were so many delicious flavors out there. Who knew that something as scrumptious as peas existed??

Here I am enjoying my first few bites...

Now I am eating peas, carrots and squash! I've heard that there are also some tasty fruits in my near future. Before I eat, I'm always sure to put my hands together to thank God for the savory experience...

Man, this eating thing is great!

Otherwise, not much else is new. I'll be spending this week with Ga'ma. She came to visit to take care of my while Mommy works. We are both really excited.

I'm getting baptized next weekend. It'll be so much fun to have another day that is all about ME! We'll be sure to take lots of pictures to share.

Places to Go and People to See

This past weekend my parents and I made a trip into Atlanta to visit our family and friends. Boy did they keep me busy!
Mommy and I headed out of town early. I was so good! I slept in the car the entire drive. It was either that or joining Mommy in her seemingly endless singing performances (she's really into American Idol downloads right now...maybe that is why Daddy drove separately). When we got there, we surprised Ga'ma at Parkview. She was super busy, but was able to find time to show me off to her friends.
Later that night, we had a family dinner. My Uncle Jeff and Aunt Amy came to visit, too. They brought their puppy Marley. He and Hud had a ball!

Here are a few shots from Friday:

Ga'ma and I had some one on one time...we had a lot of catching up to do.

Aunt Amy gave me some lovin, too.

Though I was really glad to see Uncle Jeff, I must admit, I'd had a long day and got a little grumpy towards the end of the night. I hope I didn't hurt Uncle Jeff's feelings too badly.

What can I say, sometimes you just need Daddy.

On Sunday, we visited Great Grandma Rodi. We'd been so looking forward to spending some quality time together. She has such a soothing touch...she was able to really help me relax!

Mommy came along, too. I love napping on her lap!

Finally, all of the kissing and snuggling got to be so much that I woke up. But, I was in a great mood!

I was really hammin' it up!

Sunday was so pretty, that we spent some time outside at Uncle Jeff and Aunt Amy's house.

Uncle Jeff and I made up.

Marley and Hud had a ball in the yard, too!

Daddy had to leave on Sunday to go back to work. But, Mommy and I stayed to do some more visiting.

On Monday, we visited Ms. Sandy and Ms. April. They enjoyed holding and fussing over me (what else is new!). Here I am at Ms. April's. She thought it was so funny how I held my puppy dog so tight. I'm really into hugging things right now.

Mommy and I finally headed home on Tuesday. But first, we stopped at Ms. Emilee and Mr. Matt's house to visit my friend Ella. We had a great time playing together.

We had a blast watching Barney, gazing at ceiling fans and eating some lunch. Ella even shared her Bumbo chair with me. It's a little big for me right now, but Ella assured me that I'd grow into it.

Mostly, I just enjoyed snuggling with Ms. Emilee. Ella was sweet to share her mama with me.

Overall, it was a great trip. Thanks to all of you who took the time to love on and play with me. I hope to see everyone again soon!
