Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Now That I'm One

Now that I’m one, there are some things I’d like to share,

Some things about me you should all know out there.

Now that I’m one, I’m becoming my own boy,

I’m making lives full, filling them with joy.

There are things I know I like, some I even love,

So wonderful they could only be, gifts from God above.

I love to play and laugh, I even love to sleep,

Sound machine on, you won’t hear a peep.

But, when I’m up, I’m up! I’m always on the go,

I mow the carpet, play my piano and talk with funny Elmo.

Toys are such fun, too. And mine are simply the best,

Still, to me, the back-scratcher and USB are better than the rest.

I love to play with my friends, even if they are all girls,

Play dates with Ava, showing Drew the ropes, our times are out of this world.

In fact, I’m oh so busy, I’ve little time to eat.

A waste of time to me, just sitting in that seat!

I love to be outside; there’s so much to see and hear,

Dogs barking, chimes ringing…all music to my ear.

Animals simply amaze me, but dogs are at the top of my list,

Hud Bud you were my favorite, my gentle giant, so deeply missed.

Now that I’m one, there are things I have learned, things I didn’t know before.

I’m full of wonder and want nothing more than the freedom to go and explore.

I’m learning that things have a name.

A dog, and a ball and a hat, I spend all day with my hands pointing out asking, “Dat?” “Dat?” “Dat?”

I’ve learned that my name is Sawyer, but I know I have nicknames, too.

‘Bubba’, ‘Sugarplum’, ‘Dookie’, ‘Doot-Doot’, and ‘Potata; to name just a few.

‘Pensive’ I’ve been labeled by some; learning can be tough stuff,

But when I laugh and my blue eyes light up, no one can get quite enough.

Now that I’m one, I know I am loved and cherished through each of my days,

Mommy and Daddy say we’re so very blessed in an infinite number of ways.

Now that I’m one, I know to say my prayers each night when I lay down my head,

I thank God for this year, for all it has held, and look forward to the best left ahead.

Magical First Christmas

My family and I had the most wonderful first Christmas.
It was such a special time to be with the ones that we love.
Happy Birthday, Baby Jesus!

Christmas Eve at Grandmommy and Poppy's house...

Let's sing Christmas carols, Mom and Dad!

I think I can see Santa's sleigh from here...

Ok...this one is for Aunt Carly. This one is for Mommy... This one is for Poppy...

Aunt Kathlyn loves it when I play for her...

Aunt Carly took me for a ride. It was hilarious! Mommy only caught the tail end of the fun...

Christmas morning at Gam'ma and Gam'pa's house...
Look Mommy, look!

Santa came!!!

Now I can help Dad with the yard work...

So much to explore...

Ok, enough play. More work to do...

My stocking had a hairbrush, toothbrush, a comb. What is Santa trying to tell me?

Whoa...Elmo talks!

I wasn't so sure about Elmo at first.
But now, he's my best friend (he says so all the time!).

The best part of Christmas: the boxes!

Here, I'll hold those for you Gam'ma...

Gam'pa is so silly!

Merry Christmas, Uncle Jeff!

Christmas was such fun! I can't wait until next year!

Playdate With My Girl

Ava and I had another great play-date! After seeing Santa, which we both were a bit unsure about, we were thrilled to be back home...we were ready to play!
It was another great play-date. Thanks Ava!

Such a pretty Christmas dress, Ava. But, come on and change into your play clothes!

Here, let me help you with that...

Silly girl!

Caught sneaking away...I promise, I heard every word, Ava!

We love to play by the windows. So much to see!

Ava and I love to visit the puppy dogs, too!

Such a special friendship...

See ya, Santa!

Mommy and I went to see Santa at the library on Tuesday.

Though I've been hearing about the magic of Santa, I was simply not into it!
Maybe next year, Santa. Sorry!

This won't affect my Christmas morning, will it?

Christmas Is Coming

With Christmas just around the corner, Mommy, Daddy and I decorated the house. We are all so very excited about my first Christmas! I've been pretty good about the tree so far. Though, I must say, I am super-curious!

This past weekend we visited Atlanta, again. Grandmommy, Poppy, Carly and I had some nice time together. Thanks for taking such great care of me, guys!

On Saturday, I made Christmas cookies with the Stickland family. We had such fun! Thanks for including us! Next year, we'll take some pictures!

And, of course, a trip to Atlanta wouldn't be complete without a visit to Gam'ma and Gam'pa's house. While we were there, I got to see with my dear friend Drew. She is getting bigger by the day! Mommy and Daddy really enjoyed their visit with Uncle David and Aunt Mel, too. Thanks for coming over guys!

Daddy gets to know Drew-Baby...

Spending time with 'my girl'...

Sharing the secret to spicing up life with my young friend...

Sweet dreams, baby girl...

Oh, and, yes...thanks for noticing...I did get my first haircut! What do you think?

Giving Thanks for Family and Friends

We had a very wonderful Thanksgiving! It was truly a chance to spend time with so many people we love and don't often get to see. The only sad part was missing out on time with Mimi, Papa and The Uncles. Everyone was sick and Mommy and Mimi decided it would be best if I missed out on the germs. Boo! Oh well, next year, guys!

Luckily, I did get to spend some special time with Grandmommy and Poppy. Aunt Carly and Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandfather Langner were such fun, too. We surprised Grandmommy. She was so excited!

Enjoying a mini-Thanksgiving feast of my own.

Helping Grandmommy and Poppy set the table. I know I saw that gravy boat in here somewhere.

A game of Peek-a-Book with Aunt Carly is always great fun!
Grandmommy is the best!
I am most thankful for my family. We are so blessed!

Later in the weekend, I got to meet lots of cousins and family on Gam'ma's side. Man, did they show me the love! I was a prince for three days! Just the way I like it.

On Saturday, we took a trip to Zoo Atlanta. Mommy, Gam'ma and I loved the giraffes.

Grandma Rodi has the magic touch...

Come on guys...picture time with Willie B!

So many fascinating animals to see...

The zoo is my favorite!

On our way home on Sunday, Mommy, Daddy and I stopped to meet my newest friend, Peyton. She is Mommy and Daddy's dear friends, Matt and Emilee's, newest baby (Ella's little sister). She was the sweetest thing! We loved visiting with Baby Petyon and the Baxter family.

Ella entertained me for a bit as well. I can't wait to be big like her.
Mommy says it won't be long.

Maybe someday I'll have her moves, too. I think she's been practicing with Daddy Bax!
Save some moves for me, Mr. Matt!
